CRUDE DISTILLATION UNITS

The Crude Distillation Units (CDUs), of which our refinery has three, are where the refining process gets started. Crude is distilled into various fractions, each of which has a distinct boiling range, as it enters the atmospheric distillation units. To achieve the stated product quality standards, the resulting fractions are further refined in a variety of units. Vacuum distillation is used to separate vacuum gas oil and vacuum residue from the majority of the atmospheric residue.

HYDROCRACKER COMPLEX

The Hydrocracker, using the Unicracker Technology, enables the synthesis of intermediate distillate products from heavy fuel oil components that are high quality and low in sulfur. In order to eliminate unwanted impurities, vacuum gas oil and hydrogen are transferred through a hydrotreating reactor. Then, these contaminants are catalytically broken by a process of high temperature and pressure in the presence of catalysts and hydrogen. Some of the unconverted oil at the bottom of the fractionator is recycled back to the hydrocracking reactor to boost conversion before products from the hydrocracking reactor are sent to distillation columns for product separation.

RESIDUE CATALYTIC CRACKER COMPLEX

Heavy, low-grade residual oils are processed by the Residue Catalytic Cracker (RCC) into a variety of products, including olefinic light ends, gasoline, diesel fuel, and fuel oil components. In this procedure, a fluidized bed of solid catalysts circulates quickly and at extremely high temperatures between a reactor and a two-stage catalyst regenerator. The MTBE Unit and Alkylation Unit get feed from the RCC’s light end olefinic products in order to produce more components for gasoline mixing. While the Alkylation Unit creates Alkylate, the MTBE unit creates MTBE (Methyl-Tertiary-Butyl-Ether), a high octane blending component.

COGENERATION POWER PLANT

The Power Plant Facilities, which were put into service in 2017, may burn natural gas to produce electricity and high pressure steam for usage by llp geoneft too. By utilizing clean energy, the power plant considerably increases energy efficiency and lowers greenhouse gas emissions.

BERTHS FOR LOADING TO SHIPS

In addition to seven docks for loading and unloading crude and refined petroleum products, our refinery complex provides substantial berthing facilities. With a maximum overall length of 355 meters and a loaded depth of 21 meters, the berths can hold ships weighing up to 387,000 deadweight.

The structure of the refinery includes a Complex of Crude Oil Primary Distillation, Complex of Compounding and Oil Products Dispatch, Complex of Crude Oil Advanced Processing (a fuel complex – KT-1 for deep processing of fuel oil), Complex of Heavy Oil Residue Processing which includes the several process units such as: Delayed Coking Unit, Coke Calcination Unit, Bitumen Production Unit, Sulfur Recovery Unit, Sulfur Granulation Unit. At the refinery there are Hydrogen Production Unit and Oil Sludge Processing Unit, as well as large auxiliary units – Water Supply and Sewerage plant and Central Refinery Laboratory (CRL).
As a result of the upgrading project implementation more new complexes of process units were built at the Refinery, Isomerization and Naphtha Splitter unit and Complex of Sulfur Recovery Units. The 10 new U&O facilities have been built for normal operation of constructed and brought into service units. In addition, there were revamped existing production capacities: Complex of Crude Oil Primary Distillation and Complex of Crude Oil Advanced Processing, as well as Delayed Coking Unit. All these measures ensured the production of K-4 motor fuels: diesel and gasoline of RON-92, 95 in accordance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR CU

The enterprise has well-developed Utilities & Offsite facilities: commodity and raw feed tank farms, liquefied gases tank farm, loading and unloading racks for oil products transportation by rail and road transport. The refinery conducts an active social policy; all necessary conditions are created for labor, life and health of employees. The priority for Intrade oil" refinery» llp today is to ensure the production of motor fuels corresponding to the ecological classes K4, K5, in the amount necessary for the country’s needs, increase technical resource of the refinery, its output for a three-year inter-repair cycle, production of Jet A jet fuel of international standard which is new for the refinery.

DEEP OIL REFINING

The strategic objective of the investment plan is to organize a modern technical base at the operating enterprise - for production of high-quality oil products, that meet international standards and petrochemical raw materials for development of national production. The cardinal solution of problems to increase the depth of oil processing at the Refinery is due to the introduction of the secondary processes, providing the additional depth of processing (coking, vacuum unit AVT-3), and also it is due to the introduction of the basic process of deep refining, such as catalytic cracking.

The topics of implemented innovative offers: «Revamping of globe valve by modifying rod seal» and «Increase of recycled steam condensate amount to heat-power station (ТЭЦ-3) by installation of pH-factor control unit» have become the finalists of the contest. CRUDE DISTILLATION UNIT

Distillation is the process by which various hydrocarbons are drawn off individually based on their varying boiling points inside of a distillation tower. The heaviest hydrocarbons have the highest boiling points and are pulled from the bottom of the tower, whereas lighter hydrocarbons are pulled from higher locations on the tower as the boiling points decrease.

HYDROTREATER (SULFUR RECOVERY)

Government regulations require petroleum products to limit the amount of sulfur they contain. Therefore, refineries must treat any stream containing sulfur. This process is called hydrotreating. Hydrotreating extracts sulfur by passing the petroleum streams over fixed catalyst beds in the presence of excess hydrogen at elevated temperature and pressure. The removed sulfur combines with the excess hydrogen to form hydrogen sulfide.
